1. About WAVE(K-COIL)
WAVE, the abbreviation for Worldwide Alliance for Virtual Exchange, refers to the collaborative operation of classes with universities abroad, aiming at global networking learning and exchange in virtual spaces, incorporating diverse cultural contexts. It is also known as K-COIL (Korea-Collaborative Online International Learning), adapting the COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) initiated by SUNY to the Asian region. COIL was developed in the early 2000s by the SUNY COIL Center, connecting students with peers in other countries using online tools to develop joint projects that transcend time zones, language differences, and geographic distances. WAVE(K-COIL) provides Sungkyunkwan University students with opportunities to attend lectures using alternative teaching methods conducted abroad. Furthermore, it fosters the development of global communication skills by engaging in projects on global issues from different cultural perspectives with exchange students from overseas. Additionally, it prepares students for employment in foreign companies, studying abroad, and exchange programs. However, for students who lack financial or time flexibility, it offers real opportunities for learning through exchanges with foreign universities.

2. What effects can faculty expect from conducting WAVE(K-COIL)?
The advantage of WAVE (K-COIL) is that it provides our university students with opportunities for global learning experiences. Additionally, faculty members have the chance to collaborate with professors from overseas universities, focusing on teaching and education. Through the process of preparing and designing classes with international professors, our faculty members can expect to gain extensive educational experience.
In an era where many domestic events are interconnected with the global context, universities need to have a broad perspective on learning. Through WAVE (K-COIL), faculties can take classes with students from other countries, engage in exchanges with professors from different countries, and gain a broad perspective on global issues.
